Killed by the Tide: No Mercy for Mercy Reef

We'll it's official. The CW didn't pick up the new Aquaman pilot entitled Mercy Reef. What a disappointment. Now that Smallville is going to be on its sixth season, it won't be long until the show gets canned. Hey, Superman can't be Superboy forever. This was a great chance to expand on the universe and the re-telling of Aquaman's story is a great fit (would have preferred Batman, but hey... that didn't work out the first time). Anyways, I feel that Aquaman is the most underused and underutilized characted in DC comics. This guy could head for the top if handled correctly. This was his chance for stardom and it was taken from him. It would have been a great companion to the newly released Aquaman: Sword Of Atlantis title.
